11a - Seasonal Garden Guide

For Hunters with the Title of Lord/Lady or above...
Last Updated: 19.03.2012
  1. Travel to the Seasonal Garden (Rodentia region) and purchase Zugzwang's Last Move trap from the Seasonal Garden General Store.
  2. Smash the trap using the Hunter’s Hammer.
  3. Purchase Zugzwang’s First Move blueprints at the Seasonal Garden General Store for 615,000 gold and then craft the Zugzwang's First Move trap [Formula].
  4. Use a trap set-up for the current season [Hydro in the Winter; Physical in the Spring; Tactical in the Summer; and Shadow in the Autumn (Fall)] to hunt in the Seasonal Garden with Gouda cheese, Brie cheese or SUPERbrie+ cheese as bait. [Note: For the casual or passive hunter a Tactical trap set-up will be ok].
  5. Keep hunting until you have all 4 Key Shards which should then be crafted to make Zugzwang’s Tower key [Formula].
  6. Once you have crafted Zugzwang’s Tower key you can access Zugzwang's Tower (Rodentia region). Before going into Zugzwang’s Tower make sure that the Tower Amplifier is fully charged (See note). [Note: As you catch mice in the Seasonal Garden, the Tower Amplifier will increase. Failing to attract mice in the garden will cause the Tower Amplifier to decrease.  When the amplifier is charged, it provides a power bonus to the Trap when hunting in Zugzwang’s Tower. When hunting in the tower the Tower Amplifier’s charge will decrease until it runs out or you leave the tower. Make sure to that the Tower Amplifier is fully charged before going into Zugzwang’s Tower, because it will reset to zero when you leave].
  7. Purchase the Technic Pawn Pincher trap and the Mystic Pawn Pincher trap that will cost 1,287,500 gold for both traps from the Seasonal Garden General Store.
  8. Keep hunting until your Tower Amplifier is charged [Tip for newbies to Zugzwang's Tower: at 50% you have to be very lucky to make it through; at 100% you should be OK; above 100% then you should be comfortable].
  9. See the checklist below before going onto the next phase.  If you can answer Yes to all of these then you are ready to go to the Zugzwang's Tower.
  10. Travel to Zugzwang's Tower.
  11. Go to Part 11b - Lords and Ladies: Zugzwang's Tower.
  • Have you got the Technic Pawn Pincher trap and the Mystic Pawn Pincher trap?
  • Have you got either a Tribal base, Tiki base, Monolith base, Silver Tournament base or Gold Tournament base?

Keep hunting the Dragon Mouse until you have the following loot: Zugzwang’s Scarf (which will grant you access to the Seasonal Garden); Magic Feather (a component in the Zugzwang’s First Move trap); and the Heatbath Blueprints (needed for the Heatbath Trap).
  7. Purchase the Antique Lantern from the Cape Clawed General Stores and craft Balack’s Latern [Formula].
  8. Before travelling to Balack's Cove you will need to craft Vanilla Stilton cheese [Formula] so travel to the Jungle of Dread and use the Clockapult of Time trap with Gouda cheese or SUPERBrie+ cheese as bait in order to catch Vanilla Beans. [Tip: Option 2 appears to be the best in the long run otherwise you spend far longer collecting Vanilla Beans].
  9. Travel to Balack's Cove and use the ACRoNYM trap or the Ancient Box trap with Vanilla Stilton cheese as bait to collect the drops from the; Derr Lich mouse, Elub Lich mouse and the Nerg Lich mice. Once you have collected one of each item then you can craft Vengeful Vanilla Stilton cheese [Formula]. [Tip: Ancient Box Trap appears to be the best for catching the three Lich mice]. [Tip: Before going after Balack the Banished mouse make sure that you have a good supply of Vengeful Vanilla Stilton because you will miss most of the Balack the Banished mice].
  10. Hunt for Balack the Banished mouse with the Ancient Box trap and Vengeful Vanilla Stilton cheese as bait.
  11. Keep hunting until you reach the rank of Lord (or Lady), check that you have completed everything so far and gather at least 615,000 gold and 38,000,000 points.

09 - Cape Clawed Guide for Heroes

    Last Updated: 18.02.2012
    1. Travel to Cape Clawed and purchase a stock of Plant Pots from the Cape Clawed General Store.
    2. Travel to the Tribal Islands region and craft Shell cheese, Gumbo cheese and Crunchy cheese and then collect the Blue Pepper seeds, Yellow Pepper seeds and Red Pepper seeds which are use to make the various types of Havarti cheese. Trap Setup should be: (Elub Shores; Ancient Spear Gun trap; Shell cheese = Blue Pepper Seeds); (Nerg Plains; Horrific Venus Mouse trap; Gumbo cheese = Yellow Pepper Seeds); and (Derr Dunes; RhinoBot trap; Crunchy cheese = Red Pepper Seeds). [Tip: During this step you are trying and catch the Chief mouse from each of the 3 Tribes and get the Blueprint Piece that they each drop].
    3. When you have 158,175 gold then travel to Cape Clawed and buy the Ancient Torn Blueprint Piece from the Cape Clawed General Store.
    4. When you have accumulated 17,000,000 points, craft the Ancient Box trap blueprints [Formula] using the blueprints that you have collected from the 3 Tribal Chief mice. [Tip: If you have been using SUPER|brie+ and have more than 48 Stale SUPER|brie+ then take this opportunity to craft the Enraged RhinoBot Trap; optional at this stage but it will be required later].
    5. Return to the Tribal Island locations and continue hunting as previously described until you have 20,000,000 points and 2,700,000 gold and then purchase the Clockapult of Time trap from the Cape Clawed Trapsmith.
    6. Craft some Pepper Plants by going to the Crafting Page and adding the combinations of seeds [Formulae] to a pot and craft them to create the various coloured Peppers that you need to craft the various Havarti cheeses.
    7. Go to the “Special” tab under Inventory you will find a series of Pepper Plants.
    8. Pick them and this will give you various types of Peppers.
    9. Craft the various Havarti cheese [Formulae]. [Tip: Ignore Inferno Harvati cheese at this stage.  You do not need it until later]. Each recipe makes 6 piece of cheese.
    10. Then travel to the Jungle of Dread and hunt for the various mice using the Clockapult of Time trap and each type of Harvati cheese as bait.  You are aiming to collect the 6 items dropped by the various mice attracted to each unique type of Harvati cheese; Stonework Warrior mouse = Engraved Solid Stone Slab; Fetid Swamp mouse = Hinge of Eternity; Primal mouse = Ethereal Rope; Jurassic mouse = Ancient Relic Staff; Magma Carrier mouse = Encrusted Metal of Time; and Chitinous mouse = Timeless Mystic Gem.
    11. Once you have gathered the 6 items dropped in the Jungle of Dread then you can craft the Ancient Box trap [Formula].
    12. Travel to the Acolyte Realm and catch the Acolyte mouse using the Ancient Box trap. Keep catching the Acolyte mouse until you get a Mysterious Box with a Frozen Scroll inside it.
    13. Keep hunting Fire Salt until you achieve the title of Knight. [Tip: Use Super|Brie+ cheese for best effect if you are hunting for the Pygmy Wrangler mouse].
    14. Go to Part 10 - Knights.
If you spot any errors or omissions or have any suggestions to improve the step-by-step guide then please leave a comment.  Thanks..

08 - Guide for Legendary Hunters

    1. Craft the Ambush trap [Formula].
    2. Travel to the Dojo (Furoma Region) and catch the 3 types of Student mice until you have enough Tokens to make Sucheese cheese, Combat cheese and Glutter cheese.
    3. Travel to the Meditation Room and hunt for the 3 types of Master mice using the crafted cheeses.
    4. Travel to the Pinnacle Chamber and hunt for the Master of the Dojo mouse using Rumble cheese [Formula] until you collect the Onyx stone.
    5. Repeat steps 2 to 4.
    6. Once you have gathered enough 160,000 gold (plus travel costs) travel to the Bazaar (Burroughs Region) and get the Tattered Mousoleum Map fixed at the Cartographer. This takes one week to fix so it is worth travelling back to the Dojo and repeating steps 2 to 4 in the meantime (or you can take a run through the King's Gauntlet).
    7. Try to accumulate at least 320,000 gold which you will need when you get to the Catacombs.
    8. Travel to the Bazaar and collect the Fixed Map piece.
    9. Travel to the Catacombs (Bristle Woods Region) and buy the Obelisk of Slumber trap or the Obelisk of Incineration trap (cost 316,350 gold). Use the new trap and hunt with Radioactive Blue cheese or Ancient cheese as bait. [Note: With the crafting of your first Arcane trap you can now access Tiers 6 of the King’s Gauntlet. However I would wait until you have crafted the ACRoNYM trap [See King’s Gauntlet posting]].
    10. There are two ways of obtaining Ancient Cheese [Formula]; crafting it and using Ancient Cheese Curd potions that are dropped by the Scavenger mouse or Keeper mouse in the Catacombs.
    11. Continue hunting in the Catacombs using Ancient cheese and gather 12 Scrap Metal pieces dropped by the Scavenger mouse. [Tip: If you want, you can go after the Torn Pages of Plankrun’s Journal (Front cover) that is dropped by a Keeper mouse in the Catacombs].
    12. Once you have gathered the 12 Scrap Metal pieces, Craft the ACRoNYM trap [Formula].
    13. Purchase the Mysterious blueprints (623,700 gold) from the Catacombs General Store.
    14. Keep hunting until you get a Keeper's Candle that is dropped by a Keeper mouse.
    15. Travel to the Forbidden Grove if it is open. If it is not then you have to wait until it is. [Tip: It is worth using one of the several Forbidden Grove that are available.  I use this one as it brings all the timers you need into one place [Timers]].
    16. Hunt in the Forbidden Grove using Ancient cheese as bait and collect the Runes dropped by various mice.
    17. Use the Runes to craft Runic cheese [Formula].
    18. Use Runic cheese as bait in the Acolyte Realm to hunt for the Wight mouse, Lich mouse and Acolyte mouse. [Tip: Unless you are very lucky, you are unlikely to catch an Acolyte mouse with you current trap. Don’t waste too much time on this and instead collect and save plenty of Runes (ideally 60) and return once you have crafted the Ancient Box trap]. [Note: You can not travel to the Acolyte Realm by choice; you are transported there automatically when the Forbidden Grove closes. You can travel out of the Acolyte realm at any time]. [Tip: If you are running low on Stale cheese then you can exchange it with your friends (Click 'Friends' then 'Send Free Gifts') or travel to any location in the Bristle Woods region and use the ACRoNYM trap, Explosive base and Cheddar cheese or White cheese].
    19. You now need to accumulate at least 2,000,000 gold and 18 Scrap Metal pieces before moving on. This is needed so that you can craft the Ship. Travel to the Catacombs to do this as it is the best place to accumulate gold.
    20. After you have collected enough Scrap Metal pieces then you can craft the Ship. This is done in two stages; Build the ship and then Name the ship [Formula].
    21. Travel to the SS Huntington II (Rodentia Region) and buy either the Net Gun trap or the Harpoon trap and then hunt with the Hydro trap and Brie cheese as bait until you have collected: the Compass that is dropped by a Bottled mouse; the Telescope that is dropped by a Captain mouse; and the Sextant that is dropped by a Shipwrecked mouse.
    22. Once you have collected the 3 items you should craft the Ocean Navigation Kit.
    23. Travel to Cape Clawed (Tribal Isles Region) and purchase several hundred pieces of Gouda cheese from the Cheese shop.
    24. Travel to Elub Shores and hunt using your Net Gun trap or Harpoon trap and Gouda cheese as bait.
    25. Collect 30 Shells from various mice that drop them and then return to Cape Clawed.
    26. Craft Shell cheese [Formula].
    27. Hunt at Cape Clawed with Shell cheese as bait and catch the Elder mouse that drops the Ancient Spear.
    28. Repeat 23 to 27 until you have the Ancient Spear.
    29. If you have over 12,000,000 points then craft the Ancient Spear Gun trap [Formula]. If not then go to the next step and craft it when you have enough.
    30. If you are not already there then travel to Cape Clawed and replenish your Gouda cheese stock.
    31. Travel to Nerg Plains and hunt your strongest Tactical trap with Gouda cheese as bait.
    32. Collect 30 Savoury Vegetables from various mice that drop them and then return to Cape Clawed.
    33. Craft Gumbo Cheese [Formula].
    34. Hunt at Cape Clawed with Gumbo Cheese as bait and catch the Grandfather mouse that drops the Thorned Vine.
    35. Repeat steps 31 to 34 until you have the Thorned Vine.
    36. Craft the Thorned Venus Mouse trap [Formula].
    37. Craft the Horrific Venus Mouse trap [Formula].
    38. Travel to the Pinnacle Chamber and collect more Onyx stones dropped by the Master of the Dojo mouse and then craft Onyx Gorgonzola cheese.  There are two choices:[Formula1] or [Formula2]. [Tip: If you save your Onyx stones and use them to make Unstable Curds then in the long run it seems that you get more Onyx Gorgonzola by taking the gamble. The consolation is that even when you lose you get other cheeses].
    39. Once you crafted Onyx Gorgonzola cheese then hunt in the Pinnacle Chamber using the Horrific Venus Mouse trap and Onyx Gorgonzola cheese as bait to catch the Dojo Sensei mouse.
    40. Once you have 404,340 gold (plus travel money and enough money to replenish you stock of Gouda cheese if required) and 409,500 points then travel to the Town of Digby and purchase the Digby Drillbot trap.
    41. Travel to Cape Clawed and replenish your Gouda cheese stock if necessary.
    42. Travel to Derr Dunes and hunt using the Digby Drillbot trap and Gouda cheese as bait.
    43. Collect 30 Delicious Stones from various mice that drop them.
    44. Travel to Cape Clawed and craft Crunchy cheese [Formula].
    45. Hunt at Cape Clawed with Crunchy cheese as bait and catch the Aged mouse that drops the Rhino Horn.

    52. If you have reached the Hero level then check that you have completed everything so far.
    53. Got to Part 09 - Hero

    1. Travel to the Town of Gnawnia and buy as much Brie cheese as you can afford and then travel to the Training Grounds (Furoma Regions).
    2. Use the Mutated Venus Mouse trap and hunt here until you get a Ticket to the Burroughs Bazaar which is dropped by various mice. [Tip: Do not buy the Zugzwang's Last Move trap at this stage, the Mutated Venus Mouse trap is all you need]. [Tip2: You can go after the Torn Pages of Plankruns Journal on the Dojo which is dropped by a Monk mouse at the Training Grounds].
    3. Travel to the Bazaar (Burroughs Region) and get the Furoma Map Stitch at the Cartographer costs 90,000 gold. Once it is fixed pick it up and travel to the Dojo (Furoma Region).
    4. You can use either Brie cheese or Maki cheese [Formula] to hunt in the Dojo.  Maki cheese will increase the number of Student mice you encounter so is recommended.
    5. Hunt in the Dojo until you have caught enough of each of the 3 types of Student mice in order to craft at least 3 of Glutter cheese, Sucheese cheese and Combat cheese [Formula]. This requires at least 3 Tokens of each kind.
    6. Travel to the Meditation Room and catch the 3 types of Master mice using the crafted cheeses.
    7. Repeat steps 5 to 6 until you have 1 of each Masters Shard.
    8. You may have been lucky and have the Ambush Trap Blueprints already. If not go to the Pinnacle Chamber and load Brie cheese in your trap. Eventually a Hapless mouse will drop the Ambush Trap Blueprints.
    9. Now travel to the Lagoon (Whisker Woods region) and hunt there.
    10. Keeping the same trap set-up, change your bait to Wicked Gnarly Cheese (which can be crafted using the Wicked Gnarled Cheese potions that you collected while at the Great Gnarled Tree). [Tip: Try to get the Ship's blueprints which are dropped by a Hydra mouse. Use your highest physical and/or luckiest trap and Gnarled cheese to do this. If you manage to get them you will save 750,000 gold by not having to buy them later. However, this appears to be a rare drop].
    11. Keep hunting until you reach the rank of Legendary.
    12. Go to Part 08 - Legendary.
If you spot any errors or omissions or have any suggestions to improve the step-by-step guide then please leave a comment.  Thanks..

There are two options for crafting Radioactive Blue cheese [Formula] using either Brie cheese or SUPER|brie+ cheese as the base component. [Note: There are two methods for obtaining SUPER|brie+ cheese [Options].

[Note: With the crafting of your first Tactical trap you can now access Tier’s 3 and 4 of the King’s Gauntlet.
