- Travel to the Living Garden [Sandtail Desert Region].
- Trap set-up should be Oasis Water Node trap / Golden Tournament base [or Spellbook base] / Ancient charms [or Super Power charms] / Gouda cheese [perhaps use Superbrie+ cheese if spell book and no ancient charms].
- Keep hunting the various mice until you have collected enough Dewthief Petals enabling you to buy 50-60 pieces of Dewthief Camembert cheese from the cheese shop.
- [for the initial run, ignore the "mini-game" with the sponge charms unless you want to catch the Thirsty mouse].
- Travel to the Lost City.
- Trap set-up should be Arcane Blast trap [or ACRoNYM trap] / Golden Tournament base [or Spellbook base] / Ancient charms / Dewthief Camembert cheese.
- Keep hunting the various mice until you have collected enough Dreamfluff Herbs to purchase 30-60 pieces of Duskshade Camembert cheese [Note: Each time you catch a Cursed Mouse you will see the HUD change. You then need to purchase and arm a Searcher charm from the Charm shop to 'lift the curse'. While your Searcher charm is armed, you may want to switch to a high-luck base (Papyrus/Dragon Jade/Magma). I would recommend buying these charms as required so that you do not waste you stock of Aleth Essence unnecessarily. Keep hunting until the 'curse is lifted' then return to your original set-up].
- You should also need to have collected and/or crafted 10-15 Ber essence and 5-10 Cynd Essence before you travel to the Sand Dunes unless you have purchased charm kits.
- If you have used your stock of Dewthief Camembert cheese then repeat Steps 1-4 before travelling to the Sand Dunes.
- Travel to the Sand Dunes.
- Trap set-up should be Reaper's Perch Trap / Golden Tournament base [or Spellbook base] / Ancient charms / Dewthief Camembert cheese.
- Keep hunting the various mice until you have collected enough Duckshade Petals to purchase 30-60 pieces of Duskshade Camembert cheese [Note: After each hunt, check the HUD. If a Grubling Stampede occurs then you should purchase and arm at least 15 Grubling Chow charms from the Charm shop. While your Grubling Chow charm is armed, you may want to switch to a high-luck base (Papyrus/Dragon Jade/Magma). After the stampede has ended then revert to the set-up in Step 11].
- Purchase as much Duckshade Camembert cheese from the Cheese shop as your supplies will allow.
- You should also need to have collected and/or crafted 10-15 Ber essence and 5-10 Cynd Essence before you attempt to travel to the Twisted Garden unless you have purchased charm kits.
- Travel to the Living Garden.
- Trap set-up should be Oasis Water Node trap / Golden Tournament base [or Spellbook base] / Ancient charms / Duckshade Camembert cheese.
- Keep hunting until you catch Carmine the Apothecary mouse. This will transport you into the Twisted Garden.
- Keep hunting the various mice and gather Graveblossom Petals until you have used all your Duckshade Camembert cheese [Note: If you want to leave the Twisted/Cursed/Crypts at any time then arm ordinary cheese].
- You should also need to have collected and/or crafted 25-35 Ber essence and 15-20 Cynd Essence before you attempt to travel to the Cursed City.
- Travel to the Cursed City.
- Trap set-up should be Arcane Blast Trap / Papyrus/Dragon Jade or Magma base / Ancient charms / Graveblossom Camembert cheese.
- Keep checking back for updates....

12a - Fiery Warpath Guide
For Hunters with the Title of Baron or above..
Last update: 28.08.2011
Last update: 28.08.2011
Fiery Warpath General Tips:
- If you are looking to amass points and gold then do not use charms. If you want to clear the wave as quickly as possible then adopt the strategy described below.
- An alternate strategy is to completely clear each mouse type before changing charms and moving onto the next one. This will reduce the number of charms required as you will not need to arm a charm for the third mouse type.
- Catching the Gargantuamouse. This mouse will be released into the Wave when you attain a steak of 7. The received wisdom is that at 7 you will have a 20% chance of encountering the mouse; at 8 this increases to 50% chance; while at 9 it is almost certain. When you want to go for the Gargantuamouse then change your setup to the Ice Maiden trap.
- Travel to the Fiery Warpath (Sandtail Desert Region).
- Go to the Charm Shop and but the three basic charm types (Warrior, Scout and Archer); around 20-30 will get you through the first wave[Tip: Ignore the "Super" charms for the time being].
- Use a high luck (or strongest) Physical trap setup (such as Chrome Drillbot trap and Magma base), arm Gouda cheese as bait and select one of the three charm types; it does not matter which one.
- Hunt and catch that mouse type; Warrior = Desert Soldier mouse; Scout = Vanguard mouse; Archer = Desert Archer mouse.
- When you get down to approximately 5 remaining of that mouse type then switch your charm type to one of the others [Tip: You should do this because defeating them all means that you do not get the full benefit if you catch a Crimson Commander mouse].
- Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for the third mouse type.
- If you still have remaining mice to collect then switch charm type to clear the remaining mice in the wave.
- Repeat Steps 3 to 7 for Wave 2 and 3 except;
- When the Physical type mice are cleared then switch trap setup to Tactical to clear the Cavalry mice; then to Hydro setup for the Mage mice; and Arcane for the Artillery mice (Wave 3 only). [Tip: Although not essential, Super|brie+ cheese works better that Gouda cheese on Waves 2 and 3].
- For Wave 4, the trap setup should be Physical to clear the Theurgy Warden mice and the Warmonger mouse.
- When you catch the Warmonger mouse you will return to Wave 1 and start again.
- Repeat Steps 2 to 11 until you collect the required loot and then craft the Enraged Rhinobot trap, the Sphinx Wrath trap, the Oasis Water Node trap and finally the Sandstorm Monstrobot trap. Once you have these traps then use them in instead of your current Physical, Tactical and Hydro trap.
- Collect (or purchase from the marketplace) 200 Flameshards.
- Move on to Part 12b Barons Area: Muridae Market.
If you spot any errors or omissions or have any suggestions to improve the step-by-step guide then please leave a comment. Thanks..

11g - Slushy Shoreline Guide
For Hunters with the Title of Lord/Lady or above...
Last Updated 08.06.2012
- Once you have accumulated 25,000,000 points, travel to the either the Harbour or SS Huntington II and purchase the Icebreaker License for 145,000 gold from the Cartographer shop [Note: this take one hour to complete].
- Travel to the Slushy Shoreline [Gnawnia Region].
- Visit the Charm shop and purchase a quantity of Softserve charms.
- Start hunting the various mice which are found there. Trap setting should be your strongest Hydro trap (at least Heat Bath trap) together this strong/lucky base, either Gouda cheese or Brie cheese. Softserve charms should be armed when you want to attract the stronger mice.
- Once you have collected 5 of each of the loot dropped by various mice (wire spools, heating oil and frosty metal) then purchase the Steam Laser Mk I trap from the trapsmith located there. [Tip: If your strongest base is the Monolith base or the Seasonal base then you should purchase the blueprints for either (or all) the Magnet base, the Spiked base, the Remote Detonator base or the Heathstone base from the General Store. The Remote Detonator base gives best value as a first purchase if you only want to get one at this time].
- Continuing hunting to collect more of the items previously mentioned until you have sufficient quantity to craft the Remote Detonator base then craft the base.
- Travel to the Iceberg [Rodentia Region].

11f - Crystal Library Guide
For Hunters with the Title of Lord/Lady or above...
Last updated: 20.11.2011
Note: I would recommend going to Part 12 before coming back to the Zurreal Trap Research assignment.
Last updated: 20.11.2011
- Travel to the Crystal Library in the Rodentia region and click the "Assignment" button on the head-up display.
- Your trap set-up should be either Physical or Tactical, a high luck or Spellbook base and Gouda cheese as bait.
- Keep hunting until you have completed Assignment 1 that requires catching one of each of the following mice: Explorator mouse,Flutterby mouse, Walker mouse, Scribe mouse, Pocketwatch mouse,Bookborn mouse, Infiltrator mouse and Effervescent mouse.
- Click the "Assignment" button, follow the task instructions and so on... [Tip: After the first couple of basic assignments it is worth keeping this link to hand [Assignments] when you pick some of the other assignments because some of them require older traps/bases that you may no longer have and it would be very annoying to get halfway through ZT only to find that you do not have the trap requirements].
- Keep undertaking assignments until you accumulate 900 Library points. [Tip: If you have a stock of Checkmate cheese then I would recommend buying about 10 Uncharged Scholar charms from the Crystal Library and picking the Advanced Zugzwang Research assignments. Load these charms at the same time as the Checkmate cheese and get them 'charged' while you are doing your assignments. Note: You only NEED 1 Scholar charm to catch Zurreal the Eternal mouse because it is consumed on capture rather than encounter so this tip is only for those who want to 'bronze' this mouse]. This will unlock the final assignment enabling you to capture Zurreal the Eternal mouse but don't do it yet.
- Keep hunting until you reach Baron level and take the opportunity to make sure that you have caught a Silth mouse and both the Mystic King mouse and the Technic King mouse because this, together with attaining the rank of Baron is the requirement to travel to the Fiery Warpath. [Tip: If you have not done so already, take the opportunity to collect the requisite parts and craft the Enraged RhinoBot Trap].
- Go to Part 12a - Barons: Fiery Warpath.
Note: Super|brie+ cheese is required to catch the Tomb Sprite mouse.
Note: I would recommend going to Part 12 before coming back to the Zurreal Trap Research assignment.
If you spot any errors or omissions or have any suggestions to improve the step-by-step guide then please leave a comment. Thanks..
